The Radio Addicts

From Monday July 7th onwards, band of the week on Tameside Radio's Local Music Spotlight feature are The Radio Addicts. They describe themselves as 'A band who are young, hungry, and bursting with enthusiasm, and ready to entertain and play Indie Rock & Roll music like their lives depend on it!' If you watch them live, you will agree, they certainly are that. The four-piece band consists of 14 years old lead singer and guitarist Luke, 14 years old lead guitarist Daniel, 12 years old drummer Vincent, and 11 years old Bass player Jonathan. They formed just over a year ago and have recently released their debut single 'Scroll My Life Away', the demo of which was recorded in a shed in Bolton and received radio play as soon as it was put online. Since forming they have picked up thousands of online followers and received hundreds of thousands of views on Instagram. The band have a very likeable nature, and they love to play live, and that gratefulness and enthusiasm is contagious to audiences, who come back time and time again to watch them play. Influenced by the likes of The Buzzcocks, The Sex Pistols and Oasis, the band have already played at respected festivals such as 'Made In Manchester', 'After All Festival', and 'Glaston-Bury'. A second single is due to be released in September, and their debut vinyl EP will be released in November, which will coincide with an EP launch party at Wax and Beans in Bury on November 30th. All live dates and future news can be found on the band's social media pages.
