The Lakes

From Monday 10th February onwards, band of the week on Tameside Radio's Local Music Spotlight feature are The Lakes. The band formed in Stockport in 2017, and consist of singer and rhythm guitarist Marcus Foster, lead guitarist Gideon Mcdermot, bass player Thomas Mo, and drummer Alfie Anderson. They formed in school music rooms and went on to rehearse in Stockport's South City Studios, recording nine songs between there and Manchester's Airtight Studios. They describe themselves as an indie-jangle-funk band whose influences include Orange Juice and David Bowie. Songs released so far include 'False Realisations', 'Saving Grace', 'Dirge!', 'The Hope That Kills', and 'City Bound'. With an ever-growing fanbase, they have already played in many of Manchester's iconic venues including Manchester Academy and Retro. You can find The Lakes on all usual social media platforms.
