St Lucifer

Band of the week on Tameside Radio's Local Music Spotlight are St Lucifer. The band describe themselves as a “heady cocktail of Alt/Pop/Electro/Punk/Noise”.

They released their self-titled debut LP in 2016 and are now on their 4th album 'Disgraceland'. St Lucifer formed in October 2015 and were playing live gigs within a month of being formed and wasted no time in establishing themselves on both social media platforms and the Manchester live music circuit with anthemic choruses, striking stage-wear, and a knack of winning over even the most cynical of audiences.

Having defined their sound as 'blackmetalgaydisco', they immediately received rave reviews from established and respected magazines such as 'Louder Than War'.

Since then, the four-piece band have performed at many iconic gigs and venues, which included supporting former Joy Divison and New Order legend Peter Hook and the Light at a special gig in a Macclesfield Church, as well as appearances at O2 Forum Kentish Town in London and O2 Academy Leeds as part of HRH Goth, which saw them winning over a host of new fans.

Heading into 2024, the line up, which includes David (Vocals/Guitar/Nord), Alice (Drums/Vocals), Gitzy Hate (Bass/Vocals) and Amy (Vocals/Percussion/Tech), are keen to ensure fans know that Lianother sparkling evolution has now been embraced within the band and delivered a harder, faster more passionate soundscape, and with more live dates still to be announced for early 2024, the band aren’t so much on a roll as a tsunami of intent.

St Lucifer will be played on every weekday show on Tameside Radio between 6am and 7pm all of next week. The band also joined the team on The Dave Sweetmore Show last Monday night, you can listen again via the OnDemand section of the website.
