A woman has been arrested after police received reports of someone attempting to open car doors on a street in Dukinfield.
Police said they had been contacted by members of the public reporting 'suspicious circumstances' whereby a woman was trying to force her way into vehicles on Chester Avenue on Monday evening (16 August).
A woman in her 30s was arrested for vehicle interference after officers 'attended promptly on a silent approach'.
"We wouldn’t have been able to apprehend the suspect without the support of the community," said a Greater Manchester Police Tameside North and East team spokesperson.
