A fright night to remember for families across the community.
Ashton’s Waterloo Park was transformed into a spooky spectacular this Halloween as local residents turned out in force to enjoy this year’s ‘Spooky Saturday Halloween Event’.
Organised by the Friends of Waterloo Park, the free event took place on Saturday, October 31, from 5pm to 7pm, bringing a whole host of little witches, ghosts, ghouls and other spooky characters together for an evening of frightfully good fun.

With a wonderfully eerie atmosphere, the park provided the perfect setting for Halloween celebrations, with families enjoying the chance to explore the spooky surroundings, show off their fantastic fancy dress costumes and soak up the seasonal spirit. Refreshments were also available, helping to keep everyone fuelled for an evening of Halloween adventures!
The event proved a huge hit, with organisers delighted by the fantastic response from local families.

THANK YOU: Cllr Sangita Patel, left, praised park volunteers for helping to make the event a reality and everyone for their support.
Ashton Waterloo Councillor and Chair of the Friends group Sangita Patel said: “A massive thank you to everyone who turned out in record numbers for our annual Halloween event in Waterloo Park! We hope you all had a fantastic time. Seeing so many local residents come together made this a true community event and an overwhelming success.
“Of course, celebrations like this simply wouldn't be possible without the incredible hard work and dedication of our wonderful volunteers. Thank you for your continued support.”

The feedback from those attending was equally glowing, with one visitor describing it as a “brilliant night”, praising the children's amazing costumes and the “spookylicious” surroundings.
They added: “Everyone had a good time, and that’s what it was all about, the children having a good time. Thank you everyone.”

Behind the scenes, it was the dedication and enthusiasm of the Friends of Waterloo Park volunteers that helped make the event such a success, once again demonstrating the fantastic community spirit that makes Waterloo Park such a special place.
A huge thank you goes to everyone who attended, supported and helped organise the event.
