The organisers of the 2022 Tameside Toy Appeal have said a huge thank you to everyone involved in making the appeal a huge success.
The annual appeal is run by local charity Action Together and supported by Tameside Radio, the Tameside Reporter and Tameside Council, as well as local businesses, communities and children's centres.
Despite the difficult and challenging times we're living in, donations enabled 509 Tameside families in need to give 1,180 children a toy on Christmas Day.
A massive 4,552 toys and gifts were dropped off by volunteers and staff to local children's centres, while almost £3,000 was raised through a JustGiving page.
A spokesperson for Action Together said: "The Action Together team is once again honoured to be a part of such an uplifting demonstration of community spirit by the amazing Tameside community."
