Police continue to warn motorists about the theft of catalytic converters from their vehicles.
An increase in the metals used to create the converters is driving up the crime, with latest reports of thefts in the Newton area of Hyde.
Police say it can leave victims with a costly bill of up to £800.
There are numerous precautions vehicle owners can take to make the theft of converters more difficult for the thieves.
If your catalytic converter is bolted on, you can ask for your local garage to weld the bolts to make it more difficult to remove.
Vehicle owners are also advised to park overnight in well lit areas if a garage is not an option, and not to park half on the road and half on the pavement, giving greater access to the converters.
