Volunteers from Friends of the Tame Valley have been giving Fairlea Wildflower Meadow a good tidy up as we head into spring.
The wildflower meadow has bloomed beautifully in recent years but has become heavily overgrown over the winter.
As well as brightening up the local area, the wildflower meadow also helps support local wildlife, proving a vital asset to the ecosystem.
It is hoped that after a raft of weeds and overgrown bushes were cleared, the wildflower meadow will bloom once again this year.
Steve Martin, Friends of the Tame Valley committee member, said: "The wildflower meadow is a great local asset, but it needs looking after, so thank you to all those who came down, including our new volunteers, to help give it a tidy up before we head into spring.
"The wildflowers that will hopefully grow are not just pretty to look at, they play a vital role in supporting our local wildlife and eco-system.
"Hopefully the hard work will pay off, and we can produce another fantastic wildflower meadow this year."
