Stalybridge residents took to social media early yesterday morning, February 26, when they spotted bright 'flashing' lights casting an unusual glow in the sky.
After lots of speculation, it has been revealed that the lights were a result of an equipment malfunction at the National Grid substation on Printworks Road and the fire brigade attended the site as a precautionary measure.
No one was injured and electricity supplies remained unaffected.
