Two teenagers were arrested on suspicion of stealing a vehicle after crashing into a garden wall following a police chase in Ashton.
Greater Manchester Police's Tameside North and East team said the white Ford EcoSport (pictured) made off from neighbourhood patrols carrying out Operation Safer Tameside on Friday (26 August).
After a short pursuit, the driver - described as "inexperienced" by officers - crashed into a garden wall on Alt Hill Lane before making off with the passenger on foot.
They were detained by police a short time later and checks on the vehicle revealed that it had cloned registration plates, having been stolen from the Rochdale area in July.
A 16-year-old and a 17-year-old were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and taken to custody for questioning.
