A number of our local sides were in pre-season action on Tuesday evening.
Curzon Ashton hosted League Two side Crewe Alexandra, although there was to be no shock at the Tameside Stadium as the visitors ran out 5-1 winners. Liam Davies grabbed a consolatory effort for the Nash in the 84th minute.
Meanwhile, Mossley made the journey to Cheadle Heath Nomads and were involved in a 10 goal thriller! The Lilywhites entered the game on the back of a 6-0 victory over Denton Town just four days earlier, and they took their fine form into Tuesday's clash to run out 6-4 winners. Goals from Gary Gee, Andy Keogh (2), Ben Woods (2) and Ben Richardson.
Hyde United were also in action - this time at home to 1874 Northwich. The Tigers edged their way to a 1-0 victory, thanks to a goal in the 49th minute from a trialist.
Across the border in Derbyshire, Glossop North End invited Oldham Athletic to Surrey Street, and despite a valiant attempt the Hillmen fell to a 4-1 defeat.
Droylsden made the short trip to Irlam Town and were beaten 3-2. Both Droylsden goals were scored by trialists.
