Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is looking for new public governors.
The Trust is looking to recruit for each of the following areas: Ashton-under-Lyne, Audenshaw, Denton, Dukinfield, Glossop, Hyde and the rest of England and Wales.
The Trust’s governors are responsible for representing the views of their local community to the Board and holding the Board to account for its performance in leading the Trust. Governors are elected for a three-year term and can be re-elected for up to nine years in total before having to have a break-in service.
Trust Chair Jane McCall said this about the recruitment campaign: “We are really keen to add seven new governors to the Trust’s Council of Governors from a number of different areas across Tameside and Glossop. Our governors play a crucial role in representing their local communities and we are looking for enthusiastic individuals to submit their application.”
Governors are required to give some of their time to attend meetings and participate in some Trust activities. Generally, you should expect to attend at least four meetings per year although there are opportunities for some governors to get involved in many more. It can be as busy as you want it to be.
Before making your decision to stand for election, you should consider whether you will have the time to undertake the role. A governor position is voluntary, and you should check with your employer whether you will be allowed time off, if needed.
To be a governor, you must live in the area you are applying to represent and be a member of the organisation. You can become a member of the Trust and submit an application to become a governor by visiting: https://tamesideandglossopicft.nhs.uk/about-us/trust-oversight/council-governors
If you would like more information on the role, contact Susan Rudd, Trust Secretary, at susan.rudd@tgh.nhs.uk. Alternatively, complete the online nomination process at https://www.cesvotes.com/TGH2022
Please note, you must complete the application process no later than 5pm on 3 October 2022. Late nominations cannot be accepted.
