Passengers travelling on the Metrolink network this weekend are being advised to plan ahead, as essential engineering works will affect two key lines.
On Sunday 5 October, track repair works will take place on the Ashton line, while the Bury line will undergo additional improvement works.
- Ashton line: No trams will operate between Ashton-under-Lyne and Etihad Campus.
- Bury line: No trams will run between Bury and Crumpsall.
To keep people moving, replacement bus services will be in place:
- From Ashton-under-Lyne, buses will run directly to Piccadilly Gardens.
- From Bury, buses will run to Manchester Victoria.
In addition, frequent Bee Network bus services stop near each tram stop and may offer a faster or cheaper option for some journeys. Live bus departure information is available online.
Metrolink tram tickets will only be valid on the official replacement bus services. They will not be accepted on regular numbered bus routes.
Normal tram services are expected to resume as usual from the start of service on Monday 6 October.
