The discovery was made by officers from the Hyde neighbourhood team on Thursday (22 June) at a location which hasn't been disclosed.
Three rooms full of mature plants have been seized, the set-up dismantled and all equipment destroyed.
A spokesperson for GMP Tameside South and West said enquiries are ongoing.
Anyone who suspects someone is cultivating cannabis in a property is asked to report it to their local neighbourhood team by calling 101 or going to the 'Report It' function on the GMP website at https://www.gmp.police.uk
