A group of students from West Hill School in Stalybridge have once again raised thousands of pounds for charity by taking part in the Three Peaks challenge.
The annual challenge sees participants attempt to climb the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales; Scafell Pike, Ben Nevis and Snowdon.
The team of boys got together last July to begin their training, learning all aspects of mountain leadership skills, achieving their Duke of Edinburgh Silver award and the National Indoor Climbing Wall Award Level 3.
The boys also fundraised throughout Year 11 as an after school club, raising an incredible £2,560.11 for the Teenage Cancer Trust through bag packing, Christmas markets, quiz nights, a sponsored abseil and their individual sponsorship for the challenge itself.
After undergoing an intense course and practice expeditions in Snowdonia, the Lake District and the Dark Peak, the students self-led the Three Peaks Challenge over three days, completing back on July 4.
Last Wednesday, the group got together for a presentation evening at San Rocco restaurant to celebrate their achievements.
