A popular farm shop in Mossley is inviting the local community to celebrate Pride this Saturday.
The Veg Lord is hosting its first-ever “Eat Colourful, Live Proud!” Pride event on Saturday, August 22nd, from 10am to 4pm, with everyone welcome.
The event is free to attend, with food, music, art, and entertainment on offer, all in aid of raising funds for a Manchester charity supporting people living with HIV.
The event is being held to raise money for George House Trust, a Manchester-based organisation that supports people living with HIV and works to promote greater understanding and inclusion.
Visitors can expect a packed programme of activities, including free food sampling, gift stalls, a DJ playing music, games, free face painting, an art exhibition and auction, and plenty of opportunities to meet and socialise with members of the local community.
The event is also a celebration of the inclusive ethos at The Veg Lord, where many members of staff are part of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Organisers say inclusivity is central to the shop’s approach, with the team committed to ensuring everyone who comes through its doors feels “welcomed and loved”.
“This will be our very first Pride event for the community and promises to be a day full of inclusivity,” the organisers said. “Get ready to celebrate PRIDE the tasty way while raising funds for The George House Trust.”
With the theme “Eat Colourful, Live Proud!”, the day aims to combine good food and entertainment with a message of community, acceptance, and solidarity.
The organisers are encouraging local people to come along, enjoy the festivities, and help support a charity making a difference to people living with HIV.
The Pride event is completely free to attend, with free on-site parking also available. The Veg Lord is located on Warmco Industrial Estate, Mossley, OL5 9RR.
