Carl Cooper has denied murdering Shane Cullen in the Blues Cabaret and Karaoke Bar in Ashton-under-Lyne.
Cooper, 36, appeared via videolink at Manchester’s Minshull Street Crown Court on Tuesday, August 18th. He faces one charge of murder, one charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and two charges of common assault.
During a pre-trial and preparation hearing, Mr Cooper, of Ashton-under-Lyne, pleaded not guilty to murder, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and one count of common assault.
A further case management hearing has been scheduled for November 10th, with a trial set to begin on January 11th, 2027. Mr Cooper was remanded into custody.
Emergency services were called to the Blues Cabaret and Karaoke Bar on Bow Street in Ashton-under-Lyne at around 2.40am on July 11th following reports of a “physical altercation”.
Dad-of-one Shane Cullen, 31, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
