Parishioners at St George's Church in Stalybridge are creating bags of comfort and joy.
The vicar at the church, Rev Penny Warner, said many older people will not be seeing family and friends in the same way and may be spending more time alone this year.
To help out, members of the congregation are making gift bags to bring some comfort to those in the community who may need it this Christmas.
The church is particularly looking for donations of bags of traditional sweets, hot chocolate sachets and individual Christmas puddings or Christmas cakes.
The church is also asking for folk to knit some Christmas angels to add to the packages. They are appealing for at least 50. The church has a pattern available to download.
If you would like to nominate someone to receive a gift bag or would like the knitting pattern to download, please get in touch with Rev Penny on 07393 420763.
