Vault 2 on Ashton Road in Denton have applied for a rooftop bar to be built on top of the previous Royal Bank of Scotland branch.
The application to Tameside Council states: “Proposed development is to convert the roof on our building into an open top Italian bar with glass surround balustrades and a roof canopy.”
Currently the sure is being used as a bar and bistro.
The documents state: “We are wanting to improve and expand on the local area and we feel that by creating a roof top bar will draw a lot of attention to the local area than people having to travel to Manchester, which then will create more jobs to the local area and bring more revenue locally.”
Vault 2 also hopes to add an open plan wood fired pizza oven on the first floor.
The bar has recently celebrated its one-year anniversary, since it took over the former bank site in April last year.
The application was recently validated and is awaiting a decision from Tameside Council. Both Local Highway Authority and National Highways have approved the plans from their perspective.
