Members of the Shree Bharatiya Mandal (SBM) Indian Association Tameside and friends stepped out for their annual fundraising walk recently.
Often a 10K route, this year’s challenge took participants on an 11K walk out and about through Ashton, with the reward of a picnic in the park upon completion.
Weather conditions proved just right and were not too warm for participants, remaining mostly dry.
Almost £2,000 was raised from the event for funds to help the Hindu temple continue its good work in the community.
The not-for-profit voluntary organisation and registered charity has been serving the Hindu and Indian Community in Tameside and Greater Manchester since 1964.
Combined with other recent fundraisers, including a Garbathon (an Indian traditional dance), funds of £3,300 have been raised.
