A teenager was injured after getting trapped between two vehicles following a police chase.

At around 11.30pm on Friday night (2 September), officers were following a Toyota HiAce in Dukinfield that was suspected to have been involved in theft offences.

The vehicle was pursued through Tameside to Openshaw when the driver of the Toyota and his teenage passenger de-camped from the vehicle in Openshaw at around 11:40pm.

The driver fled the scene whilst the teenager, upon getting out of the car, was trapped between this car and a parked vehicle on Wheler Street.

The male teenager suffered injuries that are not life-threatening and was taken to hospital to receive treatment, where he remains in a stable condition.

Greater Manchester Police are appealing for information as the driver of the Toyota remains unknown at this time. They also want to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have footage that could help identify the suspect.

Anyone with information should call 0161 856 9262 quoting incident number 3971 of 02/09/22. Alternatively you can call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
