Denton-based Ensemble Theatre served up an afternoon tea dance and entertainment with a difference for the group’s latest offering.
Denton’s Hope Church Hall was transformed for a traditional afternoon English tea dance, with colourful tables suitably stacked with a selection of sandwiches, savouries, scones, cakes, and more - plus of course plenty of pots of tea.
Attendees were invited to don their own hats or choose one from a selection available to top off and complete the look.
Tea, good company and a raffle was the idea behind bringing everyone together with the added bonus of an afternoon’s entertainment thrown in.
Alongside live music the theatre group’s ‘Merry Men’s Crew’ - a subsidiary group providing the opportunity for men to come together once a week - took to the stage to perform a series of sci-fi songs and sketches they had prepared.
The group enjoys quite a following and their amusing routines were universally enjoyed.
Ensemble artistic director Janet Fagan thanked all the volunteers who made it possible while Ensemble turns its attention next to its annual panto coming to Denton and Mossley this December.
