Tameside Rotary have raised more than £1,600 for Willow Wood Hospice following their annual golf day at Werneth Low.
The event was held last month and President Angela Robbins and golf day organiser Rotarian Les Smith have now presented a cheque for £1,613.50 to Elaine McConnell at the hospice to continue to support the amazing work they do.
The hospice fundraising continues with Willow Wood’s next big event being a dinner and dance at Smokies Park Hotel on Friday, November 19. You can find out more details on the hospice’s website.
Tameside Rotary President Angela said: “Just stepping into Willow Wood you feel how special and tranquil the hospice is and the love and care given to people using it.
“On the first day of autumn we were lucky to go in summer clothes and enjoy their immaculate garden.”
It was thanks to all the golfers that took part in the Tameside Rotary annual golf day in August that Tameside Rotary managed to raise so much money. The winning team was Alker’s Army and the Rotary’s thanks go to Werneth Low Golf Club who enabled the annual event to be staged and made everyone so welcome.
“Thanks also go to founder president of Tameside Rotary, Andy Williams for organising the golf day too, along with Rotarian Les Smith,” added Angela.
Tameside Rotary’s next main event is the Christmas Santa Sleigh.
