Tameside Rotary is embarking on a canal boat challenge this weekend and is looking for business sponsors to support their effort.
The Rotary team will be holding a canal boat pull from Fairfield Junction in Droylsden to Ashton’s Portland Basin.
The pull is being held to treat Tameside young carers, who will get to enjoy the canal trip followed by a picnic at Portland Basin.
Team members will be pulling the 21-ton canal boat ‘Still Waters’ - the event being organised in conjunction with Tameside Canal Boat Trust.
The pull is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 9, starting at 1pm.
Money raised will be donated to support ‘The Lemonade Project’, for young people run by Ashton-based charity Anthony Seddon Trust.
A number of sponsors are already on board but to support the initiative you can contact Tameside Rotary via their Facebook page or their web page www.tamesiderotaryclub.com
