Tameside Council is inviting artists, performers, community groups, and creative organisations across Tameside to apply for funding to bring new cultural projects to life.

The Tameside Creative Communities Grants programme, which offers grants of up to £1,500, has opened for 2026-2027. The grants are designed to support creative activities that bring people together and celebrate culture across the borough. The funding is supported by the UK Government through the Economic Development and Regeneration Flexible Grant (ED&RFG) programme and Greater Manchester Arts funding.

The scheme aims to encourage a varied and vibrant programme of cultural activity, giving residents and visitors more opportunities to engage with the arts. Projects eligible for the grants include art exhibitions, workshops, music, dance, or theatre performances, community events, film and play projects, art trails, and other creative initiatives.

Successful projects must take place in Tameside, and be completed by February 28th, 2027. They must also be high-quality, creatively led activities that are welcoming, inclusive and accessible to all, help increase footfall, help bring communities together, and celebrate creativity and champion inclusive ways for residents and visitors to engage with the arts.

Applications are open to individual artists, performers, makers, creative groups and organisations with plans to deliver a new project in the borough. Proposals will be assessed on artistic quality, community engagement, feasibility, experience, local connections to Tameside, and commitments to inclusivity and accessibility.

Anyone interested in applying should read the guidance notes and complete the application form (available on InTameside.co.uk) in full before submitting it by email to events@tameside.gov.uk with the subject line “Tameside Creative Communities Grant application”.

Applications close at midnight on Sunday, August 16th, 2026.
