Big-hearted Tameside residents have continued to rally round with donations for Afghan refugees who have fled their nation.
More than 15,000 people have been flown out to the UK as nearly 20 years of British military presence in the country ended last Saturday night.
More than 1,000 have been quarantining in hotels around Greater Manchester.
Numerous drop-off points have been set up across the borough for donations, including St George's Church in Stalybridge.
The Rev Penny Warner said: “As Christians we believe in hope, freedom and new life for all people. We continue to pray for those who have safely arrived here in the UK as they settle, and for all who support them. We pray too for those who remain in Afghanistan.
“In uniting together with others, we can always achieve more, so we are very grateful to Stalybridge Celtic Junior club for co-ordinating the collection locally for Manchester Refugee Support Network.
“Thank you to all who have given so thoughtfully and generously.”
