For the fifth year Tameside community safety partnership has launched its grant fund.
A grant of up to £2,000 can be won by non-profit constituted community organisations, charities and community interest campaigns, for projects that work to reduce harmful behaviour, improve environmental resilience and challenges or empower communities.
If accepted the groups will have to attend one of four neighbourhood events.
The audience will then decide which schemes should receive funding.
The deadline for applications is Friday 25th April, and projects must be completed by 31st March 2026.
Friends of Waterloo Park, Andrew Street Pond Association and Hattersley Youth’s Gloves Up project were among last year’s successful applicants.
Cllr Stephen Homer, Tameside Council’s executive member for towns, transport and connectivity said: “Tameside communities fund grants are a great way for us to support our residents in creating a safer borough and to make them part of the decision-making process.
“The scheme has been extremely effective since it was launched in 2020, and I am looking forward to attending the neighbourhood meetings where the public have the final say on who received grants.”
