Street Life festival returns for its fourth year this Saturday 6th June, promising a day packed with entertainment, creativity and community spirit.
Taking place on Saturday, 6 June along Market Avenue and surrounding streets, the free, all-ages event will transform the town centre into a vibrant hub of activity from 10am until late. Organisers say this year’s theme, “A New Hope,” reflects a renewed energy for the town and its future.
One of the headline attractions is England World Cup legend Sir Geoff Hurst, who will be making a special appearance and even taking penalties on Market Avenue. Visitors can also look forward to the unveiling of a brand-new World Cup Fan Zone, adding a sporting edge to the festivities.
Beyond football, the event promises a wide-ranging programme designed to appeal to all ages. Giant life-sized dinosaurs will roam the streets, while a towering 10-metre Stay Puft Marshmallow Man is expected to turn heads. Cosplay groups, movie props and iconic vehicles will bring a Comic-Con-style atmosphere to the town centre.
Live entertainment will run throughout the day, featuring singers, bands and DJs, alongside a high-energy BMX show and interactive workshops. Families can enjoy free children’s face painting, while food lovers can explore a variety of local traders, street food stalls and cocktail vendors.
Event organisers describe Street Life as “a celebration of creativity, local talent and pure imagination,” and say it offers a bold reminder of what Ashton town centre can become when the community comes together.
With no tickets required and no entry fee, the event is open to everyone. Visitors are simply encouraged to turn up, take part and enjoy what promises to be one of Ashton’s biggest days of the year.
Street Life takes place on Saturday, 6 June 2026, from 10am until late on Market Avenue, Ashton-under-Lyne.
