Stalybridge was out in force for Street Fest and Christmas Lights switch on

Armentieres Square was the seasonal place to be on Saturday, bringing a real flavour of the festive season to the town.

The festivities also showcased local talent, including musicians, dancers, and street performers. Attendees were treated to a variety of stalls offering delicious seasonal treats, handcrafted gifts, and an array of festive goodies. Santa Claus made an appearance, delighting the children Local dignitaries, including MP Jonathan Reynolds and the Civic Mayor of Tameside, Cllr Tafheen Sharif, local councillors and members of Dukinfield and Stalybridge Rotary Club, joined in to light up the town’s Christmas tree.

Cllr Sangita Patel said: “The town team worked really hard, and they delivered a really fantastic light switch on event. We really enjoyed it. I’d like to thank our volunteers and councillors for supporting the event and making it so enjoyable for everyone.” Basking in the magical Christmas lights and ambience, the event showcased community spirit, supporting local businesses and artists, and marked a successful conclusion to the final Stalybridge Street Fest of this year.
