Police were called to an incident around 2:30pm today (Friday) in which a 15 year old girl had been assaulted on Demesne Drive.
Emergency services attended the scene and enquires established that a group of six girls had been involved in the assault of the victim, but made off before they could be questioned.
However following an immediate search of the area by officers, six girls were arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm. They now remain in custody and are awaiting interviews.
The victim suffered head injuries and was taken to hospital.
