Visitors and staff at Tameside Hospital were able to browse unique products, homemade treats and speciality goods at the launch of the new Tameside Hospital Market.
Local businesses and traders hosted fabulous stalls at the introductory market at the end of June providing staff and patients with an enjoyable and positive break from their day.
Organised by Tameside Council in partnership with Tameside General Hospital, the market provided a welcoming community space at the hospital entrance, giving people the opportunity to shop locally and support independent small businesses.
The market will return on Tuesday 28 July, 10am to 2pm, and will continue to take place on the final Tuesday of every month.
An additional market is being held for the Tameside Hospitals’ Pride event which takes place on Friday 24 July, again from 10am till 2pm.
Some of the products on offer included aromatherapy products, knitted items and crochet gifts, homemade cooking pastes, and lots more.
Tameside Council Executive Member for Towns, Transport and Connectivity said: “It’s great to hear the first Tameside Hospital Market was a success. It is the perfect opportunity for visitors, staff and residents to come along, support local small businesses, have a browse, and enjoy the community spirit. We can’t wait to see even more people enjoying the future markets.”
