A 31-year-old man has been given a 10-week prison sentence and issued with a restraining order after being found guilty of a spate of thefts in Hyde.
Christopher Rowles (pictured), currently of no fixed abode but is known to regularly visit Hyde, was convicted of 11 counts of shoplifting at Tameside Magistrates Court last week.
He was sentenced to 10 weeks in prison and given a restraining order which prevents him from entering McColls on Ashton Road and the Co-op on Talbot Road - both in Hyde - until 15 January 2022.
It follows an investigation by Greater Manchester Police's Neighbourhood Team in Newton, who are based at Hyde Police Station.
