Two Tameside nurses have received national recognition after being named Queen’s Nurses by the Queen’s Nursing Institute (QNI).
Jennifer Laycock and Fiona Munro-Muotune will attend an award ceremony later in the year hosted by the QNI, which formed in 1887 and is the world’s oldest nursing charity.
A nurse for 27 years, Jennifer leads the Tameside and Glossop immunisation programme for school-aged children, while Fiona leads a team that provides specialist baby feeding clinics from her base at Union Street Clinic in Hyde.
“I am delighted Jen and Fiona have been recognised with the Queen’s Nurse title and I send them my wholehearted congratulations,” said Kerry Taylor, Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care’s Head of Nursing - Children and Young People.
“This title recognises a huge amount of hard work and dedication to their respective areas and being selected from thousands of nominations is no mean feat.
“I wish them well as Queen’s Nurses and look forward to seeing their considerable knowledge and expertise passed down to their colleagues and realised through the delivery of outstanding patient care.”
