Greater Manchester Police have confirmed they are investigating an incident at a block of flats in Dukinfield as attempted murder.
A GMP spokesperson said that a 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is in custody for questioning.
It's understood that a man was hit over the head with a paving slab on Sunday (16 April).
Dean Court, off Hill Street, was cordoned off throughout Monday, with a forensics tent and crime scene investigators witnessed at the scene.
Emergency services were first called to the estate at around 7.45pm on Sunday evening.
The victim was taken to hospital with injuries believed to have been serious but they are not described as life-threatening.
