A police helicopter was filmed hovering above Hattersley as police chased a suspected car thief.
The force chopper shone a spotlight on the fleeing car driver as they attempted to outrun a police patrol.
Eventually, the car was abandoned in Ashby Gardens near the Hare Hill pub and the suspected thief ran off on foot.
Police are still searching the scene.
