Animal loving Nitasha Cham has launched a fundraiser in an effort to save a kitten’s sight.
Nitasha, from Ashton, who works at an animal charity, adopted the ragdoll kitten - one of two kittens abandoned at the charity along with their mother.
Nitasha explained that she wanted to give the kitten, which she has called ‘Om’ ‘a loving forever home.’
The kitten has glaucoma and complex issues in one of his eyes and Tash was referred to a veterinary eye specialist who said the eye would have to be removed.
However, she was then told the news that the kitten had a detached lens in his ‘good’ eye and an operation required to save that eye would cost £4,000.
Nitasha has set up a GoFundMe page and is raising as much money herself in an effort to save little Om’s sight.
She has described him as ‘such a lively, sweet little kitten who didn’t deserve such a tough start in life’.
“I want to do everything that I can to help him by saving his sight and I would not ask (for donations) if I didn’t need to,” said Nitasha.
“I have already put some money to one side for the initial eye removal operation, but this second operation was completely unexpected.
“As he is so young and already had a poorly eye I have been unable to get pet insurance to help cover the costs.
