Traders at Hyde Market Hall have been devastated to learn of the sad death of Derris Brown.
Derris had been a stall holder on the upper floor at the hall since 2013 with her homemade pies and cakes always going down a treat.
A few years ago, she also launched the egg and bread stall which also proved hugely popular. Derris had been bravely battling ill health for some time.
She was always a popular figure with other traders and customers alike and will be sadly missed.
Andrew Richardson, from Hyde Past and Present, said: “Derris was one of the nicest ladies I’ve been privileged to know. She always had a warm greeting for you when you visited her stall where the produce was top notch.”
