The latest installation on the 'Painting the Town' Mossley art trail has been unveiled and it's been sponsored by Mossley AFC.
A collaboration between Mossley Town Team and eminent local artist Chris Cyprus, the latest piece of art sits proudly outside Body and Mind, facing the Co-op.
With Chris as curator, the trail reflects the landscape, people and culture as seen through local artists.
On the latest installation, Chris said: “So far 11 artists have been involved, all giving freely of their time and talents and we hope that more will be inspired to create works for the trail.”
The collaboration with the football club has inspired Chris to create a series of posters celebrating the Lilywhites’ appearance in the 1980 FA Trophy Final at Wembley.
Paul Dowthwaite, Deputy Chair of the Town Team said: “So far we’ve installed 33 paintings paid for by sponsorship and a small government grant.
“We’re aiming to have at least three times that number, making Mossley a unique visitor destination.
“It’s also about celebrating the pride we have in our special town and involving young people in creating the art.”
Mossley AFC Chairman Stephen Porter said: “We’re proud to be part of this project which is really putting Mossley on the map.
“The trail that the Town Team, Chris and all the artists have produced is wonderful.
“We’re thrilled to have played a part as we take immense pride in representing our wonderful town.”
