Tame Valley district Cub Scouts were crowned county champions after winning a closely fought five-a-side football tournament at Ardwick Sports Centre in 1985.
They trained hard for several weeks to reach their goal - an all-round team effort which paid dividends when they won their group, beating Wythenshawe, Denton, South Manchester - all by 1-0.
The final saw Tame Valley’s most conclusive victory, defeating Medvale 4-1 to lift the trophy.
