New Taco Bell drive-thru opens in Ashton Moss, supporting Willow Wood Hospice

A brand-new Taco Bell drive-thru has officially opened its doors at Ashton Moss Leisure Park in Ashton-under-Lyne, bringing a fresh taste of Mexican-inspired fast food to Tameside.

The global chain, known for its tacos, burritos, nachos and signature Crunchwraps, has chosen the popular leisure park as the location for its latest restaurant, creating dozens of new jobs for local people.

To mark the opening, Taco Bell has pledged its support to Willow Wood Hospice, one of Tameside’s most cherished charities. The hospice, based in Ashton, provides specialist care and support for patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families.

Willow Wood representatives were also present at the opening.

Tara Farren, Community and Events Fundraiser at Willow Wood Hospice, said: “We are absolutely delighted that Taco Bell in Ashton-under-Lyne has chosen the Hospice as their Charity of Choice. We’re so grateful for their support, which makes a difference in helping us to continue providing specialist care and support for local people with life-limiting illnesses and those closest to them. Partnerships like this are vital for Willow Wood and it was a pleasure to be invited to the new restaurant’s official opening.”

The new restaurant features a modern design, dine-in space, and a convenient drive-thru, making it a welcome addition for families, cinemagoers and visitors to Ashton Moss.

A Taco Bell spokesperson said: "We've chosen Willow Wood because it's a local charity close to our store, and we believe local causes deserve greater visibility and support. Often, smaller charities don't get the same spotlight as larger organisations, and through a global brand like Taco Bell, supported by our franchise Soul Foods, we saw the perfect opportunity to change that.

"This cause is close to all of our hearts, and we're committed to raising not only vital funds but also awareness for Willow Wood. Importantly, this won't just be a one-off initiative around our store opening, we want this to be an ongoing partnership, supporting Willow Wood for as long as we're trading."
