Mottram Parish Church rearrange 'Heritage Day'

Mottram Parish Church had to postpone its 'Heritage Open Days' weekend plans following the sad passing of Her Majesty The Queen.

However, the Parish Church of St Michael and All Angels, Mottram-in-Longdendale, has now rescheduled its 'Heritage Day' for Saturday (15 October).

The event, which will run from 10am to 4pm, is being organised by The Friends of Mottram Parish Church and will include all the usual history tours of the church and the bells, plus tea and cake.

There will also be the opportunity to meet the bellringers and find out about the planned renovation work on the bellframe, how the bells will be removed and the work being done which will enable them to ring out for the next 100 years.

This will be followed on the Saturday evening, by a rescheduled fundraising concert - Mottram with Bells On! - organised by the bellringers to raise money for the renovation of the bell frame.

This event starts at 7.30pm, tickets are available from the bellringers, or from the church website mottramparish.org.uk/concert

The Friends say they look forward to welcoming everyone - and to set your satnav to SK14 6JL.
