Want something more than top-class street food to feast on when you attend "Stalybridge is the Word", the next Town of Culture Stalybridge Street Fest on Friday (12 August)?
Then how about “Twisted Tales for Terrible Children”? It’s an hour of nonsense and nastiness guaranteed to trigger giggles and gasps.
Storyteller Gav Cross – described as a show-off and chief idiocy wrangler – takes a look at the tales we’ve all heard since childhood and adds a slight twist to reveal the terrible, the silly, and the downright incredible.
You’ll have heard these stories before, but not told Gav’s way. He brings these old fables to life in the most vivid way. It’s comedy storytelling for all the whole family and Gav will be giving performances at 5.30, 6.30 and 7.30pm.
In addition there will be walkabout characters and live music, as well as the usual array of mouthwatering food and drink that has made Stalybridge Street Fest.
Town of Culture Stalybridge Street Fest takes place on the second Friday of every month (5pm to 9pm), in and around Armentieres Square, featuring traders supplying a wide range of food and drink to suit all tastes, and against a background of live entertainment.
