Mental health conference first in Tameside

The Anthony Seddon Fund has hosted Tameside's first Men's Mental Health and Wellbeing Conference at Dukinfield Town Hall.

The special event was a free mental health and wellbeing conference designed to highlight the support available for men in Tameside.

The Ashton-based charity was joined by a host of organisations that provide support for men with mental health issues in Tameside, such as: Talk About It, Mate; Dad Matters; Angels United; Survivors Manchester and the LGBT Foundation, amongst others.

Throughout the day, a number of speakers took to the stage to share their inspirational, and at times emotional stories, regarding mental health and the different types of support available in Tameside for people going through similar issues.

A number of local organisations hosted information stands at the conference, which provided a fantastic opportunity for different organisations to get together to learn about what other services are offering to support Tameside residents, and hopefully inspire future groups and partnership working to better support men’s mental health going forward.

Around 100 people attended last week's event, including members of the public, and the conference was very well received by all who attended and some great feedback received.
