
The body of a man has been found on the M67 motorway in Tameside on Saturday morning (18 December).
Greater Manchester Police were called at around 7am and the man was pronounced dead at the scene, close to junction two.
The motorway remains closed eastbound between Junction 1 (Denton) to Junction 3 (Hyde) and westbound between Junction 2 to Junction 1A.
A spokesperson for GMP said on Saturday morning: "Police were called around 7am today (18 December) to a report of a body being found on the M67 close to junction two.
"Emergency services attended and a man has sadly been pronounced dead at the scene.
"The motorway is currently closed and officers are keeping an open mind about the circumstances surrounding the man's death whilst enquiries continue."
