Police detained a man in Stalybridge under the Mental Health Act after responding to a concern for welfare call on Monday evening (5 September).
Around six emergency service vehicles descended on Wakefield Road at around 6.30pm.
Police say the man had suffered a number of injuries but was treated at the scene before he was detained.
