A teenage boy is in a serious but stable condition in hospital after being stabbed in Ashton town centre.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said the force were called to a report of a male with stab injuries on Market Street at around 10.25pm on Wednesday evening (18 August).
A 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital for treatment, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
GMP say another 16-year-old male has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in custody for questioning.
A police presence was still at the scene on Thursday morning, with tape around a section of Market Street from the junction with Penny Meadow.
