A 25-year-old man from Hyde has been charged in connection with the assault of a taxi driver in Dukinfield, who was hospitalised with serious injuries and had cash stolen from him.
James Richards, of Hattersley Road West, has been charged with section 18 assault, theft from a person and attempted theft from a person.
Greater Manchester Police say he has been remanded into custody ahead of an appearance at Tameside Magistrates' Court on Monday (25 October).
Officers were called around 2.40am on Saturday morning (23 October) to Foundry Street in Dukinfield to a report that a taxi driver had been assaulted.
During the assault, money was also stolen from the victim.
The driver - a 56-year-old man - was taken to hospital with serious facial injuries.
