
A 41-year-old man has been charged with a number of drugs and firearms offences, after "a quantity of cannabis" was found at his home in Ashton.
Anthony Stott, of Whittington Street, was arrested on Friday (12 February) by Greater Manchester Police's Tameside District Tasking Team, as part of an ongoing investigation into drugs and firearms offences.
The cannabis was then discovered during subsequent searches of his property whilst he was in custody.
Stott has since been charged with possessing a firearm when prohibited for life, possessing ammunition when prohibited for life, possession with the intent to supply class A (cocaine), concerned in the supply of cocaine, concerned in the supply of cannabis, possession of criminal property, and possession with the intent to supply class B (cannabis).
He was remanded in custody and appeared at Manchester Magistrates Court on Saturday (13 February), where he was further remanded in custody to re-appear on 15 March.
