Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) have confirmed that the cause of the Denton fire on Saturday, April 27, was from a cannabis farm in the loft.
A 41-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of the production of a cannabis plant and abstracting electricity after firefighters spent five and a half hours tackling the blaze on Wordsworth Road this weekend.
He has since been released on bail.
One male was evacuated from the semi-detached property just before midnight and was the only person in the property at the time. Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said it used a nine metre ladder and two hose reels to extinguish the fire and make the area safe.
