
The M60 is currently closed close to Junction 24 Denton Island after a crash this afternoon.
UPDATE 4PM
The motorway is expected to be closed throughout rush hour. Traffic is being diverted via the "hollow circle" route with a 40 minute delay to journeys.
North West Ambulance Service say they have now cleared the scene. They took two children to hospital via ambulance, both with serious injuries.
An adult female was assessed at the scene and discharged.
The two air ambulances that were sent to the scene were not needed.
Three men have been injured and one is on his way to hospital.
The motorway has been closed while emergency services deal with the incident, the ambulance service have confirmed they’re still on the scene.
A spokesperson said they sent a rapid response vehicle, three ambulances, an advanced paramedic and an air ambulance.
Highways England tweeted that the motorway was closed between Junctions 23 and 24 while an air ambulance attends and that there was no estimated time for it to reopen.
